We set out to solve a real problem.
Nexties uses AI to help people explore study and career options that genuinely fit, and helps the schools and providers around them be part of it.
It started with a simple question.
After COVID, we worked on a government pilot helping international students explore what studying in New Zealand could look like for them. It left us asking: why don’t we have this for our own young people, to help them figure out who they are and where they fit? Once generative AI opened up real personalisation, and our own kids were starting school and high school, we knew if we didn’t take it on, no one else was about to step into that gap.
People who’ve spent a decade building for government and large organisations.
Founded by Amy de Hamel and Craig Boxall, after 10 years delivering projects across government, education and large organisations, where privacy, security and doing things properly aren’t optional. When we went out on our own, we brought in people who wanted to work on something that actually matters. Part of Liven Labs.
We’ll always be clear about where AI does the work.
AI helps people explore. It doesn’t make decisions for them, and it doesn’t replace the people who know them best. Everything is backed by established career education frameworks, student conversations stay private, student data is never sold, and anything sensitive goes straight to a real person.
Questions people ask.
Where is our data stored?
[NEED: hosting location and any certifications]
Can we see a privacy impact assessment?
Yes. Just ask and we’ll send it through.
Are you trying to replace what we already use?
No. National careers services are built to reach everyone at once. We focus on the one-to-one part. Two different jobs, for the very same students.
We love talking about this stuff.
If you’re thinking about how to support your students or learners better, we’d love to hear what you’re working on. It comes straight to us.
